Overseas Candidates

Overseas candidates including NRIs who are desirous of seeking admission to our PG Programme in Management can apply in the prescribed application form furnishing their latest GMAT scores. The scores should not be older than two calendar years at the time of applying. IIMs consider the GMAT scores of the candidates living abroad in lieu of CAT score. However, the overseas candidates who would happen to be in India during the CAT season should appear in the CAT, to be held during Saturday 28 Nov. to Monday 7 Dec (refer www.catiim.in).

Indian citizens living abroad, either pursuing higher education or employed, should be living abroad for not less than 18 months (as on 7th December, 2009), to qualify themselves as NRIs for the purpose of considering themselves for admission. Please note that no seats are reserved for overseas candidates and they are considered for admission solely on their merit as in the case of other applicants applying with CAT scores.

How to apply:

The application form could be downloaded from our website during the period 15th October – 30th November 2009. The application form, complete in all respects, should be mailed to The Admissions Office, Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Nongthymmai, Shillong, Meghalaya 793014, India. The completed application should carry the following documents as enclosure:

*Please see the CAT advertisement that is available on our website for checking the eligibility statement. Please make sure that you fulfill the eligibility criteria for applying to our PG Programme before you send in the application.

Last date for receiving the completed application form along with the above listed documents is 15th December, 2009.

Selection Process:

The Admissions Committee would scrutinize the applications and short-list suitable candidates for Group Discussion and/or Personal Interviews (GD & PI), solely based on their GMAT scores, scholastic performance, and work experience, if any. The GD & PI would be held in five cities of India, namely, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Shillong during February – March, 2010. Short-listed candidates will have to attend the GD & PI in any one of these centres at their own expense.

Final selection would be made from among those who attended the GD & PI, based on their performance in all those parameters used for short-listing the candidates for GD & PI and also the performance in Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview. Selected candidates would be offered admission in mid-April, 2010 and the registration for the programme at our Shillong campus will be held during the third week of June, 2010.

Expenses:

Annual expenses for an overseas participant would be US $ 15,000 for the first year, of the two-year residential PG Programme. The fee includes tuition, course material, lodging & boarding, electricity charges, student welfare activity fees, and mediclaim policy charges. Personal expenses on travel, clothing, laundry etc. would form additional, to be borne by the participants. The quantum of fee for the second year, of the two year PG Programme, may vary taking into account the general increase in the input costs.
