The emergence of China and India as major forces in the global economy is one of the most significant economic developments of the past quarter century. Their continued growth is likely to dominate the course of the world economy for the coming several decades. The growth potential in these economies has not only opened up new business opportunities, but also new challenges. Unlike the past growth trajectory of the developed western nations, the growth path of these emerging economies has to be holistic and inclusive to maintain sustainability of the society.
Successful businessmen and women not only require the functional knowledge about business management but also needs cross-cultural knowledge to conduct business in a highly integrated world. In this endeavour the Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management Shillong(IIMS), India and the Ocean University China(OUC), Qingdao have joined hands to design the first ever Post Graduate Program for Executives - Managing Business in India and China (PGPEx-MBIC). After the successful international emersion of the first batch (PGPEx 12-13), the Second batch (PGPEx 13-14) is schedule to start by June 2013. The program is designed to provide General Management education in context of the emerging economies so as to prepare leaders to conduct business in such economies.
